Introducing the LIVESTRONG x UNDFTD NIKE AIR FORCE 1.
Eddie Cruz and UNDFTD have held a strong position in sneaker, style, and sport culture on the West Coast. Having worked with Nike in the past, Cruz and Nike Sportswear have partnered together to rework the iconic Air Force 1. This new shoe follows the ‘Artist Series’ collection that was released in the Summer of 2009, and uses the LIVESTRONG foundation as inspiration for its’ design.
Digging into the archives, this release has a comparable feel to the Nike x UNDFTD Air Force 1 from 2006. Today, this shoe incorporates the black and yellow pallet of colors which are so well associated with LIVESTRONG and the fight against cancer. More notable design assets referring back to the previous launch include the ‘Shemagh’ textile used on the front half of the sneaker as well as the ‘ONYABIKEKID’ slogan, which replaces the ‘ONYAFEETKID’, a theme that refers to the origin of UNDFTD.
The sentiment and meaning of this AF1 runs deeper for Eddie Cruz, whom recently suffered a serious personal illness. Creating this shoe with the intention of raising awareness for a good cause was extra motivation and the outcome goes beyond the world of sneakers and sport. “I support LIVESTRONG and Lance Armstrong. He was one of the first people to send me a message of support when I got my brain tumor," said Cruz. "Lance told me to stay strong."
As part of the Nike Sportswear x LIVESTRONG Collection, 100% of the proceeds of this shoe benefit The Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Nike Zoom Tiempo City Pack. Austin, Texas. Lance Armstrong and Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop.

Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection Presents the Air Zoom Tiempo Austin, Texas edition.
Nike’s design team worked with Lance Armstrong to create a Zoom Tiempo inspired by Lance’s hometown, Austin Texas. The Air Zoom Tiempo draws inspiration directly from the cyclists of Austin and one of the most iconic cycling stores in the world, Mellow Johnny's. The shoe also draws inspiration from the art bikes created to help raise funds and awareness for the Lance Armstrong Foundation this summer. Finally, it takes the iconic LIVESTRONG yellow and integrates it throughout the design of the shoe.
Highlighted features include:
• Juxtaposing soft premium oiled leather with aggressive anti-abrasive materials and black contrast stitching. The design is inspired by the two sides of Lance: The world’s greatest road cyclist and a man deeply connected with the culture of his sport.
• “Texas” and “Austin” are boldly placed on the shoe heels. The stitches crossed on the words give an unfinished and rough touch.
• Contrasting yellow and black sockliners build on the LIVESTRONG and Mellow Johnny’s bike shop theme.
• The crafted STARKS laces with black aglets (tips) complement the refined, but aggressive, design.
The Livestrong x Nike Air Zoom Austin Tiempo is available on October 24th, 2009 globally exclusively at Mellow Johnny's and Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer. 100% of the proceeds go back to LIVESTRONG.

Nike Zoom Tiempo City Pack. San Francisco Designed By Massan Fluker.
Developed specifically for the Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection, the footwear design team looked at the Nike Tiempo - first launched through the Soccer category - and enhanced the shoe with key elements to work with today’s inner city bike rider.
Constructed with a board last, a process referencing ACG’s history, this provides a stiffer construction of the shoe making the pushdown of the pedal stroke easier on the rider. Throughout the construction of the shoe, the designers have increased the density of the rubber and the derometer. Inside the shoe, the sockliner has been updated to also be a bit stiffer, giving support to the foot. The upper of the shoe mirrors the look of the original Tiempo, however has been updated with a tougher leather to last through the wear and tear of the pedal cages may cause.
The San Francisco version goes with dark cinder highlighted by stitches and Swoosh in orange.
