The Darkside Initiative x Vans Vault ComfyCush LX Release Information

After Game 3 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers Penguins’ Captain Sydney Crosby was asked about an incident he had with the Flyers’ Jake Voracek after the whistle. Crosby was questioned as to why he knocked Voracek’s glove away when he tried to retrieve it. Crosby replied "I don't like any guy on their team there. It was near me and he went to pick it up and I pushed it." The next question for Crosby was “Why don't you like them?” His reply was "I don't like them, because I don't like any guy on their team so." Prior to Game 4 the Flyers placed t-shirts on every seat of the Wells Fargo Center for the Philadelphia fans that read "Guess what? We don't like you either!" It is with that same spirit that the Darkside Initiative releases their ComfyCush LX collaboration with Vans Vault.

For the ComfyCush LX project the Darkside Initiative has collaborated with Vans Vault on two silhouettes, the Old Skool ComfyCush LX and the Sk8-Hi ComfyCush LX. The simple aesthetic and color palette for this collaboration was intended to highlight the ComfyCush sole and the increased comfort of this innovation. The classic style of both brands is on display with shoes that are offered in a Matte Black Steerhide Leather with Combination Tanning to achieve a Rubber Touch Finish with grey midsole. They feature a black and orange sole to highlight ComfyCush Waffle Sole.

The Darkside Initiative x Vans Vault ComfyCush LX collection releases February 16th, 2019 at 8:00AM PST online and at 11:00am PST at both Powell and Valencia store locations in San Francisco.

As part of the release, we've also partnered with DSPTCH to create a special edition Slingpack with matching screenprinted graphics. The bag will also be available in-store and online at the same time as the release. Retail $175.
